The Lady Giants continued their win streak at 16 games as they won easily over Sylvania Southview in three sets. It was a total team effort once again as Ross lived up to their slogan “The Team, The Team, The Team, The Team.”. The talent laden team has improved their record to 18-3. With the win Ross has earned at least a tie for the Northern Lakes League Championship in the Cardinal Division. . With a win Thursday at Bowling Green, the Giants will win the title outright. It will be the school’s first League Championship in the NLL and only sixth title since 2011 when Ross was a member of the defunct Three Rivers Athletic Conference. Coach Linda Cahill (62-44) had this to say about what the win means to the volleyball program at the school. A program that was struggling when she took over in 2019. ““It’s a huge source of pride,” Cahill said. “It feels like all the hours of work that the girls have done and the personal commitment that they have made is worth something. It is important that other Little Giants can also take pride in. I think if you ask the kids, they will take more pride in the fact that there are a lot of Little Giants in the gym with them tonight watching this and celebrating it. It just feels good to have some school spirit and it feels good to be part of manufacturing that. So, it’s a good source of pride for us.”
Below is the state bracket that shows Ross playing the winner of the winner of the Tiffin Columbian and Wapakoneta at the Purple Pit Wednesday night, October 18th. It will be another chance to “Pack the Pit”.
