The Fremont Ross boy’s tennis team is 23 athletes strong this spring for their veteran coach Lisa Wolfe. All, plus a few new faces, return as there were no seniors on last year’s team.
Veteran singles players returning for the Little Giant include seniors Weston Schroeder and Kurt Harrison and Brayden Ebinger will be competing for the top spot.
While seeing double action will be senior Gabe Ontiveros and a pair of juniors in Gage Ross an Evan Garcia. All these young men are letter winners except for newcomer Cole Kinsey who is a freshman.
New faces to the team this year, besides Kinsey include Senior Reece Carter who Wolfe says, “is looking like our eighth man and will see some varsity time.” Others include senior Elijah Mendez and sophomore Adam Taylor and freshman Zach Bishop. “These players mentioned have all worked their way to the top of our 16-man junior varsity team,” Wolfe added.
The boys finished 7-13 last season and 2-5 in the TRAC for a sixth-place finish.
