Pitching, hitting and fielding. It all came together for the Fremont Ross baseball team Monday in the opening round of the sectional tournament.

Brandon Schneider

The Little Giants cruised to a 10-0 five-inning victory over Toledo Bowsher. The win advances Ross to play TRAC leader St. Francis on Wednesday.

Brandon Schneider was terrific on the mound Monday. He threw all five innings and allowed one base hit with just two walks while striking out nine.

Schneider helped himself at the plate where he went 1-for-1 with two walks and a pair of RBIs. Celeb Bennison went 2-3 with a run batted in. Cole Druckenmiller had three RBIs while Ben Mosser’s double was the lone extra-base hit out of Ross’ seven hits.

Ross was aggressive on the base paths, stealing 14 bases, five by Luke O’Brien.

The win lifts Ross’ record to 4-15 and the Little Giants host Bellevue Tuesday before continuing their sectional tournament Wednesday at St. Francis.
