TOLEDO – Playing its first game in over a week due to the year’s icy spring, the Fremont Ross baseball team finally got back on the diamond Monday.

Maybe the Little Giants would have been better off with one more off day.

Ross ran into a hot pitcher in full command of his pitches as St. John’s Caleb Biedenharn threw a complete-game no-hitter as the Titans defeated the Little Giants 6-0.

Ross managed just four base-runners, getting on base on a walk and on a pair of Titan errors as well, and the rest of the day belonged to Biedenharn, who struck out 10.

The Titans jumped out to an early lead thanks to a four-run first inning which gave Biedenharn all the offense he needed, but St. John’s added two more in the fifth while Ross’ record dropped to 0-3 overall, 0-1 in the TRAC.

Trey Ickes (0-2) took the loss on the mound a she pitched five innings, allowed six hits and just three earned runs while striking out six and walking three.

The Little Giants get a chance to find their offense Tuesday at home when the Little Giants host Toledo Rogers.
