OREGON – In tough conditions, the Little Giants boys golf team showed its coach its resilience.

Though Ross lost in a duel match to Genoa, 169-200, playing in sustained winds of 20 to 25 miles per hour at Maumee Bay State Park Golf Course, coach Jim Scharer was pleased with how his team handled the adverse weather conditions.

“I was very happy with 200. It’s the lowest round we have shot there in years,” Scharer said.

Scout Mosser led Ross with a score of 48 while John Maups was a shot behind, at 49. Mason Durnwald carded a 51 and Will Stotz rounded out the scoring with a 52.

“Putting was hard,” Scharer said. “We had around nine 3-putts trying to adjust to the speed of the greens plus the win affecting putts. But, overall, a good day.”
