FREMONT – The Fremont Ross boys tennis team extended its win streak to four in a row, including its second-straight victory via sweep, with a 5-0 shutout of Huron Wednesday.

At No. 2 singles, Ethan Moyer breezed through his match, 6-1, 6-1, while Nos. 1 and 3 singles, Lucas Cronin and Kurt Harrison, both won in three sets after getting off the slow starts. Cronin won his match 0-6, 6-0, 6-4 while Harrison won 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.

“Lucas played a very focused third set,” said Ross coach Lisa Wolfe. “I thought he did a great job coming back after that first set.”

With the Little Giants traveling to Norwalk Saturday for a doubles tournament, Wolfe experimented with different doubles personnel for the tournament.

To that end, Andrew Miller and Evan Oglesbee combined to win Wednesday at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-1, while Frankie Scott and Isaac Minor win at No. 2 doubles, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.

“They seemed to do well,” Wolfe said of her doubles pairs’ performances against Huron.

The win improves Ross to 4-2 overall. The Little Giants travel to Findlay Thursday.
