The Fremont Ross girls tennis team turned in a strong showing at the Northern Lakes League tournament this week, securing third place overall after two full days of competition.
Head coach Lisa Wolf praised her squad’s effort, highlighting the significance of advancing every player into the second day of the event.
“It’s a great thing when you are taking all seven back for day two in a tournament,” Wolf said. “That means you’re playing for one of the top four places in the brackets. The girls did their job and finished third as a team.”
Individually, Elayna Gray battled her way to a third-place finish at No. 1 singles, while Addy Calhoun matched that effort with a third-place finish at No. 2 singles. The steady play across the lineup helped the Little Giants secure their place among the league’s top programs.
Fremont Ross will close out its regular season with matches on Monday and Tuesday before turning its attention to postseason play. With momentum from the league tournament and consistent results throughout the fall, the Lady Giants will look to carry their confidence into the sectional round.
