The Fremont Ross cross country teams turned in strong performances this past Saturday at the Mel Brodt Invitational hosted by Bowling Green State University, with both squads posting several season-best times against a deep and competitive field.

The Lady Giants finished 12th out of 31 teams, scoring 354 points. Leading the way was standout freshman Lily Kiser, who clocked a season-best 19:45. She was followed closely by Kennedy Walker (20:48), Julia Norris (21:03), Ari Hinojosa-Williams (21:49), and Sophia Metcalf (23:01) to round out the top five finishers for Ross.

On the boys’ side, the Little Giants placed 16th out of 34 teams with 466 points. Bentley Lopez set the tone with a season-best 17:02, while Boogie Sanchez followed at 17:34. Dane Denman (18:25), Colin Rich (18:48), and LJ Gabel (18:57) completed the top five for the boys, all turning in strong races.

Head Coach Elder praised both squads for their effort and continued improvement. “We are progressing very well and will continue moving forward to prepare for the end-of-year racing,” Elder said.

The Ross cross country teams will look to build on this momentum when they travel to Tiffin this weekend for the annual Tiffin Carnival, one of the largest meets in the state.
