The Fremont Ross girls golf team earned a split in recent competition, picking up a victory over Whitmer before falling just short against Clay.
On August 28, the Lady Giants secured a 202–210 win over Whitmer. Leading the way was Brenah Parker, who carded a team-best 46 to claim medalist honors. She was followed by Olivia Anstead with a 49, Riley Halbeisen at 52, and Lauren Fry with a 55 to round out the scoring.
The girls returned to the course yesterday to face Clay but came up short, 188–197. Parker again led the team with a 47, followed by Fry (49), Halbeisen (50), and the trio of Anstead and Morgan Batey (51) along with Ruby Smith (54).
Despite the loss, Coach Nicole Kulasa praised the team’s effort.
“After a long weekend, the girls came out fired up and ready to battle Clay,” Kulasa said. “We knew it would be a tough match, but they fought hard and kept it close, losing by just nine strokes. I couldn’t be more excited about the second half of our season — these girls are hungry, driven, and ready to keep pushing themselves to get better every match.”
The Lady Giants return to action this Thursday when they host Sylvania Southview at the Fremont Country Club.
