The Fremont Ross boys soccer team bounced back in a big way Thursday night, shutting out Huron 4-0 to earn their second win of the season. Coming off a disappointing performance earlier in the week against Springfield, the Little Giants showed energy, balance, and a relentless attack to get back on track.
Rubens Utile opened the scoring for Ross, notching a goal and adding an assist on the night. Logan Wensinger led the way offensively with two goals, while Jeffrey Cung also found the back of the net. Alberto Martinez chipped in with an assist, helping fuel the attack.
In goal, Alek Albrecht earned the start and was stellar, securing the shutout with steady play between the posts.
Head coach Alex Coressel praised his team’s response following Tuesday’s setback.
“We rebounded well from a tough night Tuesday,” Coressel said. “We outshot them 50-4, which shows our offense is progressing and we are willing to shoot the ball. It is great to see so many guys scoring or assisting because that means we are sharing the ball well.”
The Little Giants will look to carry the momentum into league play on Tuesday when they travel to Bowling Green to take on the Bobcats. The JV match will kick off at 5:00 p.m., followed by varsity action.
