The Fremont Ross Lady Giants stayed perfect on the young season Tuesday night, grinding out a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Findlay in Northern Lakes League play.
Ross took the match by set scores of 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, improving to 2-0 on the season.
Playing conditions inside Findlay’s Fieldhouse were less than ideal, with temperatures resembling the heat of the Old Purple Pit in the summer months. Despite the sweltering environment, the Lady Giants came out strong, taking the opening set.
The second set brought a new challenge as Findlay handed Ross its first set loss of the season, knotting the match at one apiece. But the Lady Giants quickly regrouped, showing poise and determination to capture the next two sets and secure the NLL win.
Ross now turns its attention to Wednesday night, when they host Toledo Whitmer. Freshman action begins at 4:45 p.m., followed by JV and varsity play.
