The Fremont Ross girls golf team notched an important Northern Lakes League victory Tuesday evening, defeating Springfield with a team score of 211.

The Lady Giants were led by Olivia Anstead, who carded a team-best 48. She was followed closely by Lauren Fry (53), Brenah Parker (54), and Morgan Batey (56) to round out the team’s scoring.

Head coach Nicole Kulasa praised her team’s effort, especially given the conditions.
“We picked up our first league win today, and I’m proud of the way the girls handled the challenges,” Kulasa said. “The rain added another element to battle on the course, but they stayed focused and got the job done. Our team is hungry to keep improving, and that makes me really excited about where we’re headed this season.”

With the victory, Fremont Ross moves to 1-0 in NLL play and 3-2 overall on the year. The Lady Giants return to action Thursday, August 21, when they travel to Findlay for a tri-match against Findlay and Van Buren.
