The Fremont Ross girls soccer team came up just short Monday night, falling 2-1 to Bellevue.

The Lady Giants struggled to maintain possession and generate quality scoring opportunities, but freshman Jocelyn Marsee provided the spark, netting the lone goal of the evening for Ross.

Senior Aniya McNeal made her debut in goal, delivering several highlight-reel saves to keep the game within reach and give her team a chance late.

“Although it was a loss, we saw a lot of positives out of this game,” head coach Ashton Smith said. “We’re also starting to see some of the younger players build confidence and make plays, which is exciting moving forward.”

With the loss, Ross drops to 1-1 on the season. The Lady Giants return to action tonight when they travel to Springfield for their first Northern Lakes League contest of the 2025 season against the Blue Devils.
