The Fremont Ross cross country team made the trip to Fortress Obetz this past weekend to take part in the preseason state meet, testing themselves against some of the best competition in Ohio.
The Lady Little Giants turned in a strong team performance, finishing with 294 points. Leading the charge was freshman Lily Kiser, who impressed in her varsity debut with a 20th-place finish in a time of 21:22. She was followed closely by Ari Hinojosa-Williams (46th), Julia Norris (57th), Sophia Metcalf (84th), and Ella Lozano (123rd), rounding out the team’s scoring runners.
While the girls got their season underway, the boys were unfortunately sidelined, as their race was cancelled due to extreme heat conditions.
The Little Giants won’t have to travel far for their next test, as they host the annual Norm Bray Invitational this Saturday on their home course. The first race is scheduled for a 9:00 a.m. start
