The Fremont Ross boys soccer team wasted no time making a statement in their 2025 season opener, rolling past rival Sandusky in dominant fashion Friday night at Don Paul Stadium. Playing in this year’s edition of Friday Night Futbol, the Little Giants controlled every aspect of the match on their way to a 9-0 victory.
Ross outshot the Blue Streaks by an astounding 42-0 margin, striking early and often. Alberto Martinez and Jalen Wolverton each found the back of the net twice to pace the Little Giants’ attack, while Logan Tucker served as the offensive catalyst with five assists on the evening.
Adding to the scoring line were Jeffrey Cung, Gabe Wensinger, Logan Wensinger, and Dexter Lather, giving Ross a well-rounded performance across the roster.
Head coach Alex Coressel praised his team’s effort but reminded his squad of the challenges ahead. “This was a great way to start the season,” Coressel said. “We take a big jump up in competition on Tuesday with reigning league champ Springfield coming to town.”
The Little Giants return to action Tuesday when they host defending NLL champions Springfield. Varsity action begins at 5:00 p.m., with the JV match to follow.
