The Fremont Ross girls’ soccer team kicked off its 2025 season in impressive fashion, securing a 4-1 win over Sandusky on Friday evening.
The Lady Giants wasted little time setting the tone, as sophomore forward Bria Estep struck first with a powerful right-footed shot that sailed past the Blue Streaks’ goalkeeper to give Ross the early lead. Just minutes later, Aly Rozzell added to the momentum, finishing a clean opportunity to make it 2-0.
Both Estep and Rozzell weren’t done yet. The duo each added another goal before halftime, sending the Lady Giants into the break with a commanding 4-0 advantage.
In the second half, Ross continued to apply offensive pressure, firing multiple shots on goal, though none found the back of the net. Sandusky managed to get on the board late, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.
Making her first career start in goal, junior Brooklyn Koebel stood tall between the posts. Koebel was sharp all evening, recording several key saves and allowing just one goal in her varsity debut.
With the victory, Fremont Ross opens the season 1-0. The Lady Giants will look to keep the momentum rolling when they host Bellevue tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
