The Fremont Ross Lady Giants golf team turned in their lowest score of the season Thursday afternoon but came up short against perennial power Sylvania Northview, falling 165-193.
Leading the way for the Lady Giants was senior Olivia Anstead with a 46, followed closely by Ruby Smith’s 47. Brenah Parker and Lauren Fry each carded a 50 to round out the team’s scoring.
Despite the loss, head coach Nicole Kulasa praised her team’s progress while keeping her sights set on bigger goals.
“The girls scored a 193 today, which is our best score of the season so far,” Kulasa said. “We’re starting to see exactly where we need to be if we want to compete for the NLL championship at the end of the year. Northview is always tough competition, and we’ll have a couple more chances to face them this season.”
The Lady Giants will look to build on this momentum as they continue Northern Lakes League play in the coming weeks.
