The Fremont Ross boys golf team delivered an outstanding performance Friday, firing a season-best round of 322 to capture first place at the Lakota Invitational.
Leading the charge for the Little Giants was Brandon Fry, who carded a tournament-best 74 to earn medalist honors. Max Durnwald followed with an 80, while Quinn Wolf (84) and Braylon Jordan (85) rounded out the scoring for Ross.
Coach Jim Scharer praised his team’s resilience and execution. “I am very proud of this team today. They fought through some adversity early in the round but kept their focus. We finally made it over the hump and played up to our potential, earning first-place honors with a team score of 322. We hope to keep the momentum going into next week,” Scharer said.
The Little Giants will look to build on their strong showing when they host Genoa on Tuesday.
