FREMONT — It was a night to remember on the courts of Fremont Ross as the Little Giants delivered a thrilling 3-2 victory over Tiffin Columbian on Senior Night, capping off a heartfelt celebration with a hard-fought win that came down to the final match.
Head coach Lisa Wolfe made it clear before the match that the evening was about more than just the scoreboard.
“It was Senior Night, and I felt it was very important that our five seniors were in the varsity lineup,” Wolfe said. “Win or lose, that would be the most important part of the evening—honoring our seniors.”
And honored they were. The Little Giants recognized seniors Cole Kinsey, Zach Bishop, Adriel Benavidez, Isaac Sanchez, and Rylann Fox for their dedication, leadership, and contributions to the program.
“I told them, if this is your first year or your fourth year, you are a very important part of the team,” Wolfe said. “Your leadership, your sportsmanship, and your respectful personalities earned you a varsity position.”
As the match unfolded, emotions ran high and competition was fierce. With the overall team score tied at 2-2, all eyes turned to Charlie Kramer at No. 3 singles. The sophomore battled through a three-set thriller to clinch the victory for Fremont Ross, grinding out a 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 win that sent the home crowd into celebration.
The win boosts the Little Giants’ record to 7-2 on the season and serves as a perfect send-off for the senior class.
Fremont Ross returns to the courts on Thursday for another home match, this time hosting Northern Lakes League foe Napoleon. With momentum and morale on their side, the Little Giants are poised for another strong showing.
