TOLEDO – The Fremont Ross Track and Field teams traveled north this past weekend to compete in the Titan Invitational at St. John’s Jesuit High School, where the Lady Little Giants dominated the field, capturing the team title with an impressive 121 points. Perrysburg followed in second with 89 points. The boys squad showed grit and competitiveness, finishing sixth overall in a field impacted by rainy conditions that forced the cancellation of certain field events.
Girls Soar to Team Victory
It was a banner day for the Fremont Ross girls, who delivered strong performances across both track and field events.
Leading the charge in the field events was Kilee Kidd, who took first in the high jump, clearing 5’2”, with teammate Lyndi Wolf right behind her in second place. Tierra Parker added valuable points with a commanding win in the shot put, throwing 35’3.5”. Meanwhile, Danika Denman claimed the pole vault title with a height of 11’—a mark that left the competition behind.
On the track, Fremont Ross flexed its depth in the relays. The 4×200 relay team of Lexi Nelson, Braxtyn Jordan, Ashtyn Marsee, and Malise Lee-Garrett blazed to a first-place finish in 1:47.67. Later, the 4×400 relay team—featuring Ashtyn Marsee, Mia Durnwald, Ella Durnwald, and Malise Lee-Garrett—sealed the meet victory with another first-place performance, crossing in 4:12.94.
Several individuals also brought home points with runner-up finishes:
Braxtyn Jordan – 2nd in the 100 meters
Danika Denman – 2nd in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles
Malise Lee-Garrett – 2nd in the 400 meters
Boys Turn in Strong Effort Despite Weather-Shortened Events
For the boys, the story of the day was potential—both realized and unrealized. Wet weather conditions forced the cancellation of certain field events, limiting scoring opportunities. Despite this, the Little Giants finished sixth and saw several standout performances.
Mason Englund soared to a top finish in the high jump, clearing an impressive 6’6”, one of the day’s best marks. On the track, Jadrian Brown sprinted to victory in the 100 meters with a time of 11.11 seconds, then followed up with a second-place finish in the 200 meters, clocking in at 22.37.
While the weather may have played spoiler to some of the boys’ opportunities, the meet still showcased Fremont Ross’s depth and promise on both sides of competition.
