This past weekend, the Fremont Ross Little Giant swim teams hit the pool in the opening round of the OHSAA tournament, delivering strong performances and securing district berths for several athletes. For some, this marked the end of a hard-fought season, while others will continue their journey at the OHSAA District Championships at Bowling Green State University on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Girls’ District Qualifiers
The Lady Giants will dive into competition at 10:00 AM, with a talented lineup of swimmers set to compete across multiple events:
- 200 Medley Relay – Layla Mendoza, Kayla Lewis, Sydney Weickert, Lillian Weakley
- 200 Freestyle – Layla Mendoza
- 200 IM – Kayla Lewis
- 50 Freestyle – Sydney Weickert
- 500 Freestyle – Kenna Tooman
- 200 Freestyle Relay – Elayna Gray, Kayla Lewis, Lillian Weakley, Sydney Weickert
- 100 Backstroke – Layla Mendoza
- 100 Breaststroke – Sydney Weickert, Kayla Lewis
- 400 Freestyle Relay – Brenah Parker, Aubrey Pfotenhuaer, Elayna Mendoza, Kenna Tooman
Boys’ District Qualifiers
The boys will take to the water at 4:30 PM, with a strong contingent ready to represent Fremont Ross:
