FREMONT – The Fremont Ross Little Giants showed grit and determination in their dual meet victory over Findlay at this year’s Beauty and the Beast event, overcoming illness-related forfeits in three weight classes to secure a hard-fought win.

The event, which pairs wrestling matches with gymnastics performances to celebrate both sports, delivered thrilling moments and a true showcase of athleticism.

Key Performances Propel Little Giants to Victory
Freshman Jackson Durbin made a statement in his match at 113 pounds. Despite bumping up in weight and facing a senior opponent, Durbin displayed resilience and composure, ultimately clinching an overtime victory that set the tone for the team.

Another standout performance came from Lincoln Ollom, who dominated his state-ranked opponent in what many considered the most impressive win of the day. Ollom’s convincing victory not only boosted the team but also solidified his reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

Senior leaders Bryce Estep and Brody Barth both earned falls in their respective matches, showcasing their veteran experience and drive. Aidan Autullo and Anthony Salazar contributed with major decision victories, adding valuable points to the team’s tally.

Collinn Ollom and Zeb Zucker also played crucial roles, each collecting forfeits that helped the Little Giants overcome the deficit caused by their own forfeits.

A Milestone Moment for Barth
The event was especially memorable for senior Brody Barth, who celebrated his entry into the prestigious century club with his 100th career win. Barth’s milestone victory was met with cheers from the crowd and his teammates, marking a proud moment for the Little Giants program.

Teamwork and Tenacity Pay Off
Despite the adversity of forfeiting three weight classes, Fremont Ross demonstrated the depth and determination necessary to secure a win. Head coach Chad Hetrick praised the team’s resilience, stating, “This was a total team effort. Every match mattered, and these guys stepped up when it counted the most.”

The Little Giants’ victory over Findlay highlights their potential for the rest of the season as they continue to build momentum for the upcoming post season.
