FREMONT – It was a thrilling evening at the pool as Fremont Ross swimmers went head-to-head with Findlay, resulting in a split decision. The boys’ swim team emerged victorious, claiming a hard-fought 97-88 win, while the girls’ team fell short, 81-100, despite showcasing some impressive performances.
The boys’ team extended their undefeated streak to 4-0 this season with a dynamic team effort and a series of standout swims. Key victories included:
- The 200 Medley Relay team of Elder, Gabel, Biddle, and Tooman, who set the tone early.
- Robert Rich, dominating both the 50 and 100 freestyle events.
- LJ Gabel, taking first in the grueling 500 freestyle.
- The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Logan Garza, Lucas Garza, Rich, and Brown, delivering a decisive win.
- Logan Garza, excelling in the 100 breaststroke.
- The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Rich, Logan Garza, Lucas Garza, and Brown, clinching the meet with a strong finish.
On the girls’ side, the team battled hard but ultimately fell to 3-2 on the season. While depth proved to be a challenge, there were several remarkable performances:
- The 200 Medley Relay team of Mendoza, Lewis, Weickert, and Gray grabbed a first-place finish.
- Kayla Lewis, showcasing her versatility, triumphed in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 breaststroke.
