The Little Giants cross country teams had a strong showing at this year’s Tiffin Carnival, one of the largest high school cross-country meets in the Midwest. Competing against a deep and talented field, both the girls’ and boys’ teams delivered solid performances on a challenging course.
Girls Team Highlights
The Little Giants girls’ team finished 19th overall, led by a standout performance from Kennedy Walker. Walker paced the team with a time of 20:53, securing 48th place overall. She was closely followed by Ariana Hinojosa-Williams, who clocked in at 22:33, and Mayla Hughes, just two seconds behind at 22:35. Sophia Metcalf rounded out the top four with a time of 22:47.
Kailani Long (23:39) and Ella Lozano (24:06) also contributed with solid runs, while Miley Sheidler closed out the varsity race for the Little Giants in 25:08. Each of these athletes showed great determination and endurance, contributing to a commendable team finish.
Boys Team Highlights
On the boys’ side, the Little Giants finished 28th as a team. Leading the charge was Daniel Sanchez, who completed the 5,000-meter course in 17:44. Adrian Ontiveros followed with a time of 18:59, while Andrew Tooman (19:07) and LJ Gabel (19:13) finished closely behind.
Jaheim Stratton (19:23) and Colin Rich (19:38) also delivered strong performances for the team, with Aidan Weber rounding out the varsity lineup, crossing the line in 22:42.
Both teams displayed grit and determination throughout the race, and the experience gained at this prestigious event will surely benefit them as they continue their seasons. The Little Giants look forward to building on these performances in their upcoming meets.
