FREMONT – The Hawk-Bucci Natatorium was buzzing Saturday as teams from Fremont Ross, Delaware Olentangy, Ottawa Hills, Clyde and Woodmore made some serious waves during the competition. Olentangy was the winner when all was said and done in the boys meet, besides the other team victories, they beat Fremont Ross 102-81.

            In the girls meet, Olentangy was even more dominate as they defeated the Little Giants 131-45.

In the order of events:

            The Fremont Ross girls 200 Medley Relay team swam to a second-place finish. The race included Channing Stevenson, Sydney Weickert, Megan Evans, and Kamryn Krieger. The foursome swam a time of 2:04.06. The Fremont “B” team of Brenah Parker, Kayla Lewis, Alivia Weisenauer and Kenna Tooman swam sixth in 2:19.86.

            In the boys 200 Medley Relay, Ross’ “A” team of Evan Beardmore, Trent Harkness, Logan Weisenauer and Aidan Zimmerman swam second in 1:46.76. Jackson Kiddey, Parker Brown, Eric Elder and Robert Rich, comprising Fremont’s “B” team finished the race in 2:08.48

            In the girls 200 Freestyle Virginia Dabrunz was fourth in 2:24.21, Kayla Lewis was sixth in 2:31.0 and Kalli Moreno was eighth in 2:45.53.

            Zimmerman swam to victory in the boys 200 Freestyle. The senior completed the race in a time of 1:53.71. Zimmerman’s teammate, Eliot Haitonic was third in 2:01.83 while Brown was fifth in 2:15.23.

            Evans swam to a second place in the girls 200 IM with a time of 2:30.39. Weisenauer and Parker were fourth and sixth respectively with times of 2:42.87 and 2:56.67.

            Logan Weisenauer grabbed second in the boys 200 IM. The senior completed the race in 2:17.13. Quentin O’Brien was fourth in 2:24.99 while Eric Elder was seventh in 2:49.00.

            The girl’s 50 Freestyle saw Ross’ Stevenson place second in 26.07. Krieger was fourth in 26.74 and Audrey Stewart was 11th in 51.56.

            Harkness and Beardmore and Rich took third, fourth and fifth respectively in the boy’s 50 Freestyle. The times were 24.41 for Harkness, 24.80 for Beardmore and 25.18 for Rich.

            The swimming activity took a break as six divers took part in their competition.  When all was said and done Fremont Ross’ Derek Haeusser won the boy’s diving with a score of 148.60. There were no divers for Ross in the girl’s competition.

            When the swimming continued, first up was the girl’s 100 Butterfly. Evans took third place with a time of 1:09.86 and Tooman swam to a sixth-place finish in 1:19.88.

            Ross’ boys took third, fourth and seventh in the boy’s 100 Butterfly. Weisenauer was third in 58.97, O’Brien was fourth in 1:04.85 and Elder was seventh in 1:22.23.

            Krieger swam to a second in the 100 Freestyle in 59.92 while Weisenauer was fifth in 1:05.19.

            Beardmore was in second position in the 100 Freestyle in 54.15. Blake Dymond and Zavier Lopez was 6th and 7th respectively with times of 1:00.73 and 1:06.92.

            Dabrunz was the only Ross placer in the 500 Freestyle finishing fifth in 6:31.72

            Zimmerman swam to a second in the boy’s 500 Freestyle in 5:14.91, while teammates Haitonic and Kiddey were third and fourth respectively with times of 5:33.62 and 5:45.26.

            The 200 Freestyle Relay was the next event. In the girl’s race Ross was fourth with the team of Weickert, Lewis, Tooman and Dabrunz. The girls swam the event in 2:00.12.

            The Ross boys won the 200 Freestyle relay in a time of 1:38.74. Members of the team included Harkness, O’Brien, Zimmerman and Haitonic.  Ross’ “B” team with members Dymond, Bryceton Sabo, Lopez and Brown were timed in 1:59.26.

            The girl’s 100 Backstroke was the next event. Stevenson finished in second place in a time of 1:07.23. Parker and Stewart finished sixth and ninth. Parker was timed in 1:19.55 while Stewart completed the race in 2:07.49.

            In the boy’s 100 Backstroke.  Ross occupied fourth, fifth and seventh spot. Kiddey was timed in 1:12.54 while Dymond finished in 1:12.99 and Rich finished in 1:13.53.

            Fremont girls placed Lewis, Weichert and Tooman in the 100 Breaststroke.  Lewis was fourth in 1:22.18, Weickert was sixth in 1:24.49 and Tooman finished seventh in 1:26.44.

            The boy’s race saw Harkness, Brown and Booher finish second, sixth and seventh respectively with times of 1:06.06, 1:24.66 and 1:29.06.

            In the final event, the 400 Freestyle Relay, Ross’ girls were second and sixth. The “A” team consisting of Krieger, Evans, Weisenauer and Stevenson swam the event in 4:09.82. The “B” team of Dabrunz, Moreno, Parker and Steward swam sixth in 5:29.73.

            Fremont’s boy’s “A” team of Beardmore, Haitonic, O’Brien and Weisenauer swam second in 3:38.69 while the “B” team of Dymond, Rich, Kiddey and Elder completed the race in 4:08.88.

            Next up for the Giant’s swimmers is a date in Findlay Tuesday.

Eric Haitonic finished third in the 500 Freestyle.

Virginia Dabrunz competes in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
