TOLEDO–Mckenna Englund and Allison Taylor established new meet records in the high jump (5’2”) and pole vault (11’) respectively Saturday at the St John’s Titan Invitational

The girls team finished 3rd with 99.5 points while the boys were 6th with 88 points.

There were eight teams in the boys meet while nine girls’ teams competed.

While in the field events, Easton Silva cleared 11’2” in the pole vault to finish second. In the boy’s high jump, Anthony Vann was third with a leap of 5’10” and Ricky Howard III was fourth with a height of 5’8”.  Howard also competed in the long jump and finished fourth with a leap of 19’5.5”.  Alex Menkhoff was fourth in the discus with a throw of 126’7” (pictured above) and he also finished fifth in the shot put with a heave of 44’.25”. Ethan Green was 6th in the shot put with a throw of 43’10”.

Carolyn Cahill finished second in the discus with a throw 103’3” and freshman Reese Smith took fourth place with a toss of 87’5”.

Other girls scoring points in the field events were Jaydn Rozzell finishing third in the long jump with a jump of 16’ and freshman Lyndi Wolf tied for fourth in the high jump with a leap of 4’6”.

In the running events the girls 4×800 relay team of Allison Taylor, Adriane Halbisen, Mackenzie Smith, and Evelyn Szymanowski ran 6th in 11:34.14.  In the boys 4×800, the team of Kameron Walker, Will Kiser, Evan Beardmore and Zach Glotzbecker were 3rd in 8:59.18.

Englund took her second first place finish in the 100-meter hurdles.  The senior ran the distance in 16.30.

Rozzell ran 6th in the 100 meters in 13.2. She then was joined by Englund, Jasmin Hiedelburg and Briana Morrisette to finish 3rd in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:53.91. It was a senior relay with the 4×100. The four seniors, Englund, Taylor, Morrisette and Rozzell finished second with a time of 52.62.

Sophomore Evelyn Szymanowski ran well in the distance events. She finished third in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:39.00. She equaled that finish in the 800 meters running the distance in 2:32.88. Mackenzie Smith added a 3rd place finish in the 3200 meters in 12:43.46.

The girls finished their meet with a 6th place showing in the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:45.50. the foursome included Szymanowski, Taylor, Hiedelburg and Halbisen.

In the rest of the boys meet: James Kemp ran third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.41 and Ricky Howard III was seventh in 11.69.  Michael Ruiz Patterson sprinted to a third place finishing the 200 meters with a time of 23.83. He added another third in the 400 meters in 53.02.

In the relays: the 4×200 of Semja Kemp, James Kemp, JD Moncrief and Ruiz-Patterson finished second in 1:35.61. The 4×100 involving the Kemp brothers, Moncrief and Ruiz-Patterson took third place in 45.22. The 4×400 relay involved Kameron Walker, Evan Beardmore, JD Moncrief, and Ruiz-Patterson finishing 6th in 3:53.54.

In the two distance races, Zach Glotzbecker was 7th in the 1600 with a time of 5:05.66 and ran 6th in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:04.39.

The teams are back in action Tuesday as they travel to Findlay to take on the Trojans.

Evelyn Szymanowski led the way for the lady distance runners Saturday afternoon.

Makenna Englund captured to first place finishes at the Titan Invite in the 100 hurdles and the High Jump.

Anthony Vann jumped his way to a third place finish in the high jump.
