LIMA – The Lady Giant tennis team closed out a busy week in fine style Thursday afternoon.
Playing its fourth match in as many days, Fremont Ross made sure to end the week on a high note, sweeping Lima Senior 5-0 in TRAC competition.
The Lady Giants played their expected-postseason TRAC tournament lineup and did so to strong effect.
Lillie Swinehart won the day’s closest match at No. 1 singles, defeating Hailey Bartels 7-6 (8-6), 6-1.
Emma Jahns won at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-3, while Vivyanna Esquivel won every game at No. 3 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
The doubles teams of Gillian Gallagher/Lily Abdoo and Berlin Swaisgood/Sophia Biggins both won in straight sets, winning every game along the way.
The Lady Giants end the week 4-0 and are now 8-0 for the season with a 3-0 record in the TRAC.
Things will get more difficult for Ross next week as the Lady Giants travel to TRAC rival St. Ursula next Tuesday and then have another tough match the following day at Norwalk.
