BOWLING GREEN – The day started well enough for the Lady Giants softball team as Ross opened its game at Bowling Green by scoring the first three runs of the afternoon.
Then things took a downturn.
The Bobcats answered Ross’ 3-run second inning by putting up eight in the bottom half of the frame and cruised from there to a 13-3 victory over the Lady Giants.
Bowling Green out-hit Ross by nearly a 2-to-1 margin, 15-8, while the Bobcats committed no errors to the Lady Giants’ two and worked four walks while Ross had none.
Mya Lenke went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ross’ offense while Gabby Zuniga had a double, her team’s only extra-base hit, and Braelyn Horn collected a pair of RBIs.
The Lady Giants are 2-5 overall on the season and host Toledo Central Catholic Friday afternoon.
