The Fremont Ross boys golf team opened their week with a solid showing at the Sylvania Invitational, posting a team score of 348. The event, featuring a competitive field from across the region, saw the Little Giants battle through a tough opening nine before finding their rhythm on the back side of the course.

Scoring for Fremont Ross were senior Brandon Fry and junior Max Durnwald, each carding rounds of 86. Junior Quinn Wolf and freshman Grady Kelly followed closely behind with matching scores of 88.

Head Coach Jim Scharer praised the team’s resilience and determination.

“The team fought hard throughout the round,” Scharer said. “Although the shots didn’t fall our way on the first nine, the team made a big turnaround on the back nine, led by Brandon Fry and Grady Kelly who both shot a 39 coming in.”

The Little Giants will look to build on this momentum when they travel to Anthony Wayne on Thursday to compete in their annual invitational.
