FREMONT – The Little Giant swimmers garnered two third place finishes at the TRAC Swim and Dive Championships held here Saturday.
The Lady Giants scored a total of 419 points which was just one better than the Gentlemen’s 418.
For the Ladies, senior Maddie Gallagher won a TRAC title in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 54.93 then took second place in the 100 breaststrokes in 1:05.43. Gallagher was also a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team for the Ladies. The foursome of Channing Stevenson, Kamryn Krieger, Allison Taylor, and Gallagher won with a time of 1:43.08.
Other finishing in the top six in their respective events included: Channing Stevenson the Conference Champion in the 100 Backstroke in 1:02.45 then took second in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 25.68. Megan Evans swam fourth in the 200 IM in 2:29.44. The 200 Medley Relay team of Stevenson, Gallagher, Evans, and Taylor took second by only four 100th of a second in 1:53.64. Then the Ladies 200 Medley Relay (B team) of Virginia Dabrunz, Kayla Lewis, Alivia Weisenauer and Sydney Weickert swam fifth in 2:10.51. The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Evans, Weickert, Weisenauer and Krieger finished fifth in 4:05.73. Swimming fifth in the 100 breaststroke was Weickert with a time of 1:19.93. Sixth places went to Krieger in the 50 Freestyle in 26.86 and in the 100 Freestyle in 59.65. Individual Taylor swam sixth in the 200 Freestyle in 2:08.97 and Kayla Lewis was sixth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:23.29.
Top finishers for the Gentlemen Giants included: Third places to Aidan Zimmerman in the 500 Freestyle in 5:12.33; Logan Weisenauer in the 200 IM in 2:11.05: the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Ryan Dabrunz, Trent Harkness, Quentin O’Brien, and Cole Dymond in 1:35.54; the 200 Medley Relay team of Evan Beardmore, Harkness, Weisenauer and Zimmerman in 1:48.03; and the 400 Freestyle Relay team of Dabrunz, Zimmerman, Weisenauer and Dymond in 3:30.61.
Fourth places to Zimmerman in the 200 Freestyle in 1:52.66; Harkness in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:06.94.
Fifth places went to Dymond in the 100 Freestyle in 51.76; Weisenauer in the 100 Butterfly in 57.43 and Eliot Haitonic in the 500 Freestyle in 5:30.09.
Ryan Dabrunz swam 6th in the 100 Freestyle in 52.18 and the Fremont ‘B team’ took 6th in the 400 Freestyle relay with the team of Beardmore, Sam Sweeney, Joshua Ross and Haitonic in 3:51.21.
First and second places earn first team All-TRAC; third and fourth places earn second team while 5thand 6th are honorable mention.
A special shout out to first teamers: Maddie Gallagher, Channing Stevenson, the 200 Freestyle Relay team and the 200 Medley relay team for the Lady Giants.
