Cole Druckenmiller

Noah Hotz

The Little Giant baseball team has been recognized for its season by the coaches of the Three Rivers Athletic Conference as six players were honored for their play this season while nine were recognized for their performance in the classroom.

As was the case for much of the season, leading the way for the Little Giants was pitcher Trey Ickes and top hitter Garrett Schneider, both of whom were named first-team all-TRAC.

Ickes, the ace of the Ross pitching staff, threw 58.1 innings – against the Little Giants’ top opponents – yielding 57 hits and 34 walks while striking out 68 with a 2.76 ERA.

Schneider, meanwhile, led Ross in nearly every offensive category including batting average (.397), average with runners in scoring position (.467), on-base percentage (.483), RBIs (17) and triples (four). He also hit four doubles, one home run, scored 18 runs and tied for the team lead in walks (12). Schneider also led Ross defensively, with a .968 fielding percentage, committing just one error all season.

Both Ickes and Schneider also earned honorable mention all-district for their efforts as well.

Caleb Bennison

Karson Wojdyla

A trio of Little Giants, Cole Druckenmiller, Noah Hotz and Karson Wojdyla, were named second-team all-TRAC.

Druckenmiller was outstanding as Ross’ No. 2 man in the rotation, whose off-speed pitching prowess gave the Little Giants a tremendous compliment to Ickes’ power pitching.

Druckenmiller pitched 40.1 innings, allowing just 46 hits and only six walks, while striking out 39 and 14 earned runs in compiling a 2.43 ERA. Offensively, he hit .291 with four doubles and 15 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

Hotz played all 26 games for the Little Giants, hitting .261 with eight doubles and a triple, driving in 11 runs. He scored a team-high 22 runs and stole 17 bases, half of the team’s 34 steals, and was never picked off on the bases.

Wojdyla batted .306, .400 with runners in scoring position, and drove in 10 RBIs with a .429 on-base percentage. He committed just two errors for a .938 fielding percentage.

Caleb Bennison rounded out the Little Giants’ on the all-TRAC team as he earned an honorable mention. He hit .224, with 10 RBIs, and had a .333 on-base percentage with three doubles and three triples. Bennison also totaled eight sacrifices, nearly half of the Little Giants’ team total (18).

Bennison, Druckenmiller, Hotz and Schneider, along with Charlie Corthell, Tim Mosser, Luke O’Brien, Braxton White and Gabe Witt also earned TRAC all-academic honors as well for their performance in the classroom.
