LIMA – The Fremont Ross boys tennis team’s return to TRAC competition bore striking similarities to its recent non-conference opponents.

Andrew Miller

The Little Giants won their fourth consecutive match by an identical 5-0 score with its latest win over TRAC rival Lima Senior Tuesday night.

And for the second night in a row, Ross won all but one game in the entire match.

Nils Nolte (No. 1 singles) and Alex Thatcher (No. 2) won by 6-0, 6-0 scores and, at No. 3 singles, Drew Miller won 6-0, 6-1.

Miller, playing his first year of tennis has impressed Wolfe with how quickly he has taken to the game.

“I’m proud of the newbie, Drew Miller. He has stepped right into the No. 3 singles spot and he’s just a sponge. He absorbs everything you say. He’s done a great job.”

The doubles combinations of Sam Long/Trevor Weickert and Lucas Cronin/Ethan Moyer both posted identical 6-0, 6-0 victories.

The victory raises Ross’ record to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The competition will likely stiffen on Wednesday as the Little Giants play host to their neighbors from Clyde.
