The postseason honors continue to pour in for the Fremont Ross football team. The Associated Press released its Northwest Ohio all-district team and several Little Giants were recognized for their efforts in lifting Ross to a 5-5 overall record.
Leading the way for the Little Giants was a trio of first-team honorees, senior defensive end Shawn Newsome, senior defensive back Roger Burling and junior punter Noah Hotz.
Newsome was a terror for opposing offenses as he racked up 43 tackles, including nine tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
Burling made 23.5 tackles with five interceptions in the defensive backfield, in addition to catching 38 passes for 745 yards and five touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball as well.
As for Hotz, he averaged 36.6 yards per punt on 57 kicks.
All three also won first-team all-TRAC awards as well for their efforts.
Junior quarterback Hayden Lehmann, himself a first-team TRAC honoree, earned second-team all-district having thrown for 2,170 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Also earning second-team all-district recognition was linebacker Caleb Wood. Wood’s 63 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks and one interception previously earned him second-team all-TRAC.
