TOLEDO – They knew it couldn’t last forever, but that lessen the disappointment.
The Ross girls soccer team saw its undefeated start to season come to an end Wednesday night, losing to TRAC rival Toledo Central Catholic, 3-0.
“They’re taking it well. They have each others’ back after losses,” coach Phil Collison said. “They’re disappointed, which is a really good sign to be disappointed, it means they’re going to come out and work hard to improve the things they need to work on.”
Ross created some good scoring opportunities and managed six shots on goal but could not find the back of the net.
Lady Giants’ keeper Hailey Taylor made 12 stops and had 20 shots fired in her direction.
“They are a tough team, they beat Oak Harbor earlier in the season, 4-1. They’re a very good squad. We didn’t get done what we needed to get done tonight.”
The loss drops Ross to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.
The Lady Giants return to the pitch Saturday morning at home against Tiffin Columbian at 2 pm.
