Ben Rozzell, football
Football players don’t come much more vocal than Ben Rozzell. The senior linebacker is always at the forefront of team stretches and getting a message across. But he leads in more ways than just with his mouth, he does it with his actions as well. Coach Chad Long called him the “heart and soul” of the 2017 Little Giants and for good reason.
Favorite class in school?
Government and history. I love it. For history, it’s understanding where we came from. And Government, it’s (learning) how things are run. I like that.
Any pre-game superstitions?
I always tie my right shoe first. It’s got to be just right and tie my right shoe first.
Pet peeve?
Lack of work ethic. People that don’t work hard, that doesn’t go well. It’s frustrating. Obviously, in football, we have to work and if you don’t want to work, you’re in the wrong sport.
What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?
Shoes. I don’t get the thing about Jordans. I get a lot of crap from my teammates, but I don’t get it. I’m not paying $400 for a pair of sneakers.
Biggest fear?
Not being successful. In life.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
Probably motivational speaking. I can just pull it out of anywhere. I’m cool and comfortable with public speaking. Put me on a stage anywhere and I’ll be fine.
Plans for after graduation?
I’m in the process of joining the Air Force, early enlistment. I got sworn in recently. After high school, that’s the plan.
