It started by asking volleyball coach Kari Shull who is the best talker on the team. It quickly became clear this wasn’t going to be so easy. Shull called over assistant coach Shayla Lauren for input but she agreed with Shull, it’s a group of “super quiet” girls. Eventually the two settled on AnneMarie Moses, saying she’d have fun with it. There was another reason for optimism: As a state-bound swimmer and pole vaulter, one would imagine she could handle being thrown in the deep end and clear every bar in the form of a few on-the-spot questions. The junior managed just fine.
If I asked your parents what’s your worst habit, what would they say?
Organization. I’m really messy. Bedroom, car, locker, everything.
You win an all-expenses-paid trip anywhere in the world, where do you go?
I would go to, probably, the Bahamas, somewhere like that. It’s hot and it’s not like around here, where everything is the same. It’s nice.
What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch?
American Horror Story. That stuff is scary and weird.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?
Elephants. I really like elephants. I don’t know that much about them, but I like them.
The African Elephant or the Asian Elephant, or does it not matter?
The Asian Elephant.
What skill would you like to master?
Something I want to do someday is skydiving, but I don’t know that’s something you really master.
What’s the best single day of the year?
Christmas. Family and stuff.
What was the most memorable gift you’ve received?
When I was like, 10, we got a new slide for our playset and it was really awesome. It was just really exciting for me and my sister.
