MARION – It may not have been its best performance, but the Fremont Ross girls soccer team made it work, nevertheless.

Ellie Bloom

Ashtyn Schneider

The Lady Giants defeated Marion Harding, 4-0, improving their overall record to 5-3.

“All in all, it wasn’t the best game we played, but we did make it work,” co-coach Emma Schratt said. “It was a rough first half, where it looked like they forgot everything they did Saturday (in a 2-0 win over Tiffin Columbian). They pulled through enough after they were up 2-0, you could tell they were still hungry for more.”

Ellie Bloom got things going for Ross with the first goal of the game, then Ashtyn Schneider scored the next three goals for a hat trick.

Things will be tougher for Ross as the Lady Giants travel to Toledo Central Catholic Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

“Wednesday will be a whole different game,” Schratt said. “But we won’t go down without a fight.”
