BOWLING GREEN – Zach Edmonds finished second overall in the Division I race Saturday morning at BGSU’s Mel Brodt Invitational. Edmonds crossed the line with a time of 16 minutes, 40.5 seconds, faster than all but Perrysburg’s Marc Baroncini.
Edmonds led the Little Giants to a sixth-place finish out of 10 teams. Ethan McClory followed in 11th place with a time of 17:15.9. Ross’ other top runners were Brayden Darr (17:55,7), Isaias Ortiz (18::28.0) and Jake Thompson (18:52.5).
The Lady Giants finished seventh as a team, led by McKela Elder’s 11th-place finish and time of 20:49.4.
Freshman Mackenzie Smith wasn’t far behind Elder, placing 18th in 21:19.2 with Allison Taylor finishing in 22:31.3. McKenna Englund and Sarah Buciaga finished together, as Englund clocked a time of 24:55.6 and Buciaga a second later.
The cross country teams run next Saturday morning at the Tiffin Carnival.
