MARION – The Fremont Ross track and field teams’ visit to the Marion Night Invitational ended the same way many of their meets have this season: With at least one of the programs bringing home a championship.
The Lady Giants finished first out of 11 teams, racking up a total of 107 points, 18 points ahead of second-place Lexington. The boys team also enjoyed a strong showing, finishing second behind Olentangy Liberty, with 103 points,
Briana Morrisette finished first in the 100 dash while also taking third in the 200. McKela Elder won the 800 and took a third-place finish in the 1600.
Three relay teams won their events, the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, and AnneMarie Moses finished first in the pole vault.
As for the boys’ competitors, Bryce McKinstry won the 400 dash and took fourth in the high jump.
Zach Edmonds took first in the 1600 with also a third-place finish in the 3200.
Keaton Jordan won the pole vault, reaching a height of 14 feet while Ethan Green won the discus with a throw of 142’9.50.
