Lately, it seems, whenever the Little Giant tennis team needs a win in a clutch moment, somehow, someway, they find a way to get it.
That continued to be the case Wednesday as Ross took a 3-2 victory from Oak Harbor.
The Little Giants swept the singles matches as Lucas Cronin (No. 1 singles) and Drew Miller (No. 2) each swept their matches 6-0, 6-0. The deciding match came down to No. 3 singles where Evan Oglesbee took a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Malachi Kennedy to lift the Little Giants to victory.
“It seems we always have one hero, or lately it’s that position,” Ross coach Lisa Wolfe said. “Evan did the job. He hasn’t played singles since the first match vs. Norwalk, but he’s quick and has developed good form, a good athlete.”
The victory improves Ross to 10-6 overall.
