TOLEDO – Thursday afternoon the Little Giant tennis team got a first-hand glimpse of what it takes to be among the elite teams in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.
St. John’s shut out Fremont Ross 5-0, with only Ross’ No. 1 doubles team of Lucas Cronin and Ethan Moyer winning a set, losing by a score of 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 1-6.
“Tough match at No. 1 doubles,” coach Lisa Wolfe said. “They’ll get another shot at them at the TRAC tourney.”
Wolfe also credited the Titans for the work they put in outside of the high school season.
“This match is where we appreciate our opponents – all the time and money – all year round they play to get better.”
The loss drops Ross’ record to 6-4 overall, 2-2 in the TRAC.
Ross hosts St. Joseph Central Catholic Friday.
