The last two days have seen the Fremont Ross boys tennis team collect a pair of convincing victories, losing just one flight in its last two matches.

The Little Giants swept TRAC rival Lima Senior Tuesday, 5-0, then followed up that performance with a 4-1 win Tuesday at Bowling Green.

The highlight of Ross’ win over Lima came at No. 2 singles were Isaac Minor rallied after a slow start to take a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 victory.

“He was down 0-4 first set, adjusted his game and ended up winning,” coach Lisa Wolfe said.

Wednesday afternoon Ross won four flights from Bowling Green with relative ease – no set was closer than 6-3. But the match the Little Giants lost, No. 1 doubles, caught Wolfe’s attention. While Evan Oglesbee and Frankie Scott lost by the score of 2-6, 3-6, Wolfe liked what she saw from her duo.

“Everyone did great, did their jobs,” Wolfe said. “No. 1 doubles are working well together – fought even harder through second set. That’s what you like to see, as a coach.”

Ross’ victories up its overall record to 6-3 and are 2-1 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. The Little Giants return to action Thursday at St. John’s.
