PORT CLINTON – Ross’ swim teams had a busy – but productive – day Saturday.

Sophia Biggins

The varsity squads dominated the Ken Gipe relays at Port Clinton High School while the junior varsity swimmers went to Canton for the junior varsity state championship.

The Swimming Giants swept the relay event in Port Clinton, the girls winning all but one event on their way to 100 points, more than double that of second place; while the boys won all but two events, totaling 98 points – also more than double its next-closest team.

The only event the girls did not win was the final one of the day, the 200 underwater freestyle relay – where they finished third. The boys took second in both the 200 medley relay and underwater freestyle. See full list of winners below.

Ross’ top performance at the JV championships came from Sophia Biggins, who finished third in the state in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:03.23.
